Transfers & Withdrawals

Moving your digital assets safely and securely

Transfers & Withdrawals

Once you have accounts set up, you can move assets between internal accounts or send them to pre-approved external addresses.

Types of Transfers

Internal Transfers

Moving assets between accounts your organization owns. Internal transfers follow the same approval workflow as external withdrawals — they require the quorum approvals configured on the source account.

External Withdrawals

Sending assets outside your organization to exchanges, counterparties, or external accounts you own. The destination address must be whitelisted before you can send to it. See Whitelisted Addresses.

How Transfers Work

Initiating a Transfer

  1. Choose the source account
  2. Select the destination — an internal account or a whitelisted external address
  3. Enter the asset and amount
  4. Review the details and submit for approval

Approval Workflow

Every transfer goes through the quorum approval process configured on the source account:

3-person quorum:

  1. Initiator submits the transfer request
  2. Approver reviews and approves
  3. A second approver provides final authorization
  4. Transfer executes

2-person quorum:

  1. Initiator submits the transfer request
  2. Approver reviews and authorizes
  3. Transfer executes

1-person quorum:

  1. One person submits and authorizes
  2. Transfer executes

What Happens During Processing

  • Address verification confirms the destination is whitelisted (for external withdrawals)
  • Balance verification confirms sufficient funds
  • The transaction is submitted to the blockchain network
  • Confirmation is tracked until the transaction is finalized

Transfer Timing

Confirmation times depend on the blockchain network and current network congestion — they are outside the platform's control. Typical ranges:

  • Bitcoin: 30 minutes to several hours
  • Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens: Several minutes to an hour

Failed Transfers

If a transfer fails after submission to the blockchain, the reason will be recorded and visible in the transaction history. Contact support if a transfer is stuck or requires investigation.

Best Practices

  • Double-check destination addresses before submitting — transfers are irreversible
  • Account for network fees when entering the amount, particularly for ETH
  • Whitelist addresses in advance — address approval takes time and cannot be bypassed
  • Use the maximum quorum for high-value transfers
