Accounts

Creating and managing secure digital asset storage for your organization

Accounts

Accounts hold your organization's digital assets. Each account is tied to a single asset type and a workspace (custody or transactional). Before any transaction can leave an account, it must clear that account's quorum approval workflow.

Creating an Account

Creating an account requires at least two people:

  1. An Initiator submits the account creation request with the asset type, workspace, and name
  2. An Approver reviews and approves the request
  3. The account is created and a deposit address is provisioned

Quorum Settings

Each account has a quorum setting that controls how many people must authorize a transaction:

3-Person Quorum

Three separate people are required to move funds:

  1. Initiator creates the transaction request
  2. Approver reviews and approves
  3. A second approver provides final authorization

Use this for high-value accounts where maximum oversight is required.

2-Person Quorum

Two separate people are required:

  1. Initiator creates the transaction request
  2. A second person reviews and authorizes

1-Person Quorum

A single person can create and authorize transactions without a second reviewer. Use only where the operational requirements justify reduced oversight.

What You Can Do with an Account

Receive Assets

Each account has a unique deposit address. Incoming transfers appear automatically in your transaction history without requiring approvals.

Send to Internal Accounts

Transfer assets between accounts your organization owns. Subject to the source account's quorum settings.

Withdraw to External Addresses

Send assets to pre-approved external addresses. The destination must be whitelisted first. Subject to the source account's quorum settings.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive account names that identify the asset and purpose — for example "BTC Treasury" or "ETH Operations"
  • Match the quorum setting to the value and sensitivity of the assets held
  • Review account access regularly and remove users who no longer need it
  • Create separate accounts for different business purposes to maintain clear audit trails
